On 19 November 1969 (according to Reuters) the United Nations endorsed Indonesia's take-over of the former territory of Dutch West New Guinea, despite fierce African opposition to the results of "act of free choice" there.
UN confirmed the "Act of Free Choice" took place, but did not claim it to be Self-determination or to have complied with UN Resolutions 1541, 1514, the UN Charter, or the New York Agreement.
This is the genesis of the Papua Conflict and the demands for a Referendum in West Papua that conformed to the international practice of ‘one – man one – vote’.
These mothers will vote to severe ties with the NKRI in preference for an independent motherland of West Papua….if the mother or the babies died during childbirth as in 90 per cent of the cases in the highlands of West Papua, in death the vote will still be Free West Papua.
